What is the primary sin of the Pharisees? Self-righteousness. They want to exalt themselves and declare that everyone else is just wicked and therefore they cannot fellowship with anyone else. That's the way a Pharisee would look at it and that is a very divisive, disunifying spirit that can show up in churches today.
