Read Passage: Hebrews 11:17-19*
Abraham's faith is exemplary because he believed the promise that Isaac was the miraculously born promised child. He was the child of the covenant. But then at God's instruction he is ready to nullify everything and offer him up. If Isaac is dead, then it is all over. Have you realized that you cannot figure out the ways of God? He is to be obeyed in faith.
