Chad Epperson is the owner and CEO of United Treating and Distribution, LLC (unitedtreating.com) in Muscle Shoals, AL. He began his lumber career in high school working at a local lumber yard. After Chad graduated from high school he joined the Army and was stationed in Texas from 1987-1989 where he was honorably discharged. Chad returned home to the Shoals as a car salesman but soon found his way back to the lumber industry and worked in sales and as the sales manager at two local lumber companies from 1990- 2005.
In 2006, Chad started UTD in Muscle Shoals, AL. January 1, 2021 United Treating & Distribution (UTD) celebrated 15 years in business. Today, UTD has 70 team members and serves customers in 20 states.
Chad married Jeannie in 1987. They both graduated high school in 1986. Chad and Jeannie have three sons that are all involved with UTD, Casey, 30, Vice President of Operations; Dylan, 27, Sales; and Zach, 19, College Freshman at the University of Alabama and part time team member at UTD in the summers and breaks. Chad has two precious granddaughters- Aubrey and Remmie, from Casey and his wife, Aly. When not at work, he enjoys church, outdoors, and various activities with sons, granddaughters and church family.
Chad came to faith in Jesus Christ in 1995 and both he and Jeannie are active members of Grace Life Church of the Shoals. Chad serves as the Director of Philemon Fellowship for Anchored in Truth. Chad is passionate about using his business as ministry. God has called us to be who we are in Him wherever we are; there is no sacred life vs. secular life. Grace Outreach is the ministry arm of United Treating & Distribution and is one way we live out our mission. Grace outreach serves our team members, customers, suppliers, family members and community. Grace Outreach allows us to point the whole team to Christ while serving each other and honoring the Lord.
Chad has been a member of C12 for 12 years. He is a C12 Ambassador and 2019 C12 Hero Award Recipient. Chad is on the Board of Directors for the Attention Homes of Northwes Alabama where he was a resident as a teenager.
