Pastor Jarman Castellanos
Emmanuel Church of Los Arrayanes, Honduras
Jarman Castellanos is the pastor of Iglesia de Emanuel (Church of Emanuel) in Los Arrayanes, Honduras. He has been married to Karina Castellanos for 34 years. The church began in 2014 as a bible study with 5 ladies, and by Gods grace it has grown to have 40 people in attendance.
The church also has a ministry to children in which the children are presented with the Gospel and also learn to read and write. This ministry was started in 2024 with 15 children and has grown to include 35 children.
The church also ministers to the men of the surrounding community by providing training for various trades that will enable the men to better provide for their families.
The purpose in all these ministries is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that the people of Los Arrayanes might know him as their Lord and Savior.
Please pray that God will give wisdom and strength to Pastor Jarman, his family, and church to keep fighting the good fight.
To God be the glory for ever and ever Amen.
November 2025 Update
2025 was a year full of surprises, full of ups and downs, and full of blessings from the Lord, even though it had some trials and tribulations for us. But GOD didn’t leave us alone, He was with us all the time.
We started in a great way, having a marriage retreat, feeling like God was preparing us for what was coming the following month. We traveled to the States for a mission conference and Jarman was doing a wedding in Louisiana. Before that we visit Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, in El dorado, Arkansas, Jarman preached Gods word to encourage the brothers to serve God. In preparation for the wedding we headed to Dry Prong, Lousiana, to stay with Pastor Travis and his wife. The next day they woke me up with the bad news that my son had an accident back home(Honduras), and there were 3 people involved. All the people involved in the accident needed surgeries including my son, so I told my wife, “You have to go back, and I will stay serving my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
It took us 6 months to settle everything down, paying for surgeries, cars, the wall, and even compensation to the people, But God was with us and provided for everything we needed to pay, even lawyers too. I just wanted to say GOD is faithful to his kids. Praise his name.
I always remember what Jesus said in Mathew 10:37, and that is why I stayed and served Him.
After my wife left I had the privilege of doing the wedding. It was a wonderful time for me doing it for the first time in the States, a blessing that only comes from God.
After that I went to the mission conference in Grace Life Church in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. There, I had the privilege of teaching the kids in the conference and of sharing about our ministry in the conference and inviting people to come and visit us. And they did visit us, Praise the Lord.
Four other pastors and I went to First Baptist Lake Butler, Florida, for a mission week. All of us shared with the people and the church about our lives and ministries, and we were treated amazingly good…
We had the visit of First Baptist Church of lake Butler. They came to help us in finish the Sunday school classroom, paint the community school, have Bible studies with the ladies, and have VBS with the kids.
In May we had a tragedy in the church; my helper and disciple in the church had a motorcycle accident coming to church, and he passed away. It was hard and difficult but God had a plan. During the funeral service his mom, his sister, and one brother accepted Christ as Lord and Savior. They had been strong Catholics, and I had even seen an altar with an idol in the house. (I will say more about this below.)
After this, we had the privilege of going to Peru on a mission trip. God is sovereign, and he is saving people around the world…
Back in Honduras, while we ministering to the kids by teaching them to read and write and to the young men by teaching them how to weld and be a mechanic, one day the father of two of the boys suddenly stopped, lifted his helmet, and said, “Pastor I need to get saved right now.” So he as well as his two boys received Christ, and now they are in training for baptism. Praise the Lord…
This highlight of the year was when, one day, I got a call from the wife of the brother that accepted Christ at the funeral. She said that he was feeling bad and that he was taken to the doctor. She said that two days later he was in coma on a ventilator, that was Wednesday. His mom also called me requesting prayer for him, because the Doctor told her that only God would be able to raise him. I told her we would pray. Late that night around 11:30, God laid something on my heart, and I called her and told her that we can’t be praying to God if she has an altar in her house with an idol. I told her that God will not share his glory with anyone. She said that she didn’t have an altar to an idol, but Tuesday at 7 am she called me and confessed that she did have that and that they were going to throw it away. They threw it away, and at 4 pm she called me very excited saying that her son was responsive, Praise be to God Almighty! The next day I went to the hospital, and while I was there they were bringing him out from the IR to a regular room. The next day he was sent home! We serve a mighty God, and that family is just on fire for the Lord.
October was full of ministry. We went to Peru again to support Pastor Juan there. We visited house to house, and four ladies professed faith in Christ while we were there.
We also had a visit from a church from Tennessee together with First Baptist Lake Butler. The team worked in los Arrayanes, where we put part of the fence up in the church and built the foundation for a classroom at the school. We are hoping that God send a church to come and finish the classroom.
We ask you to be praying for us for health, because we are not feeling that well lately. Please also pray for strength and for wisdom to face all the situations that we face in the ministry in the church and in our family.
We love you and thank you for your support to our ministry.
We hope to continue working together for Gods kingdom.
To Him be the honor and glory, amen.
