Joseph Mahlaola holds a BTh (Christ Seminary), BTh Honours and MTh in Biblical Greek (SATS) and Doctor of Educational Ministry in Leadership (SBTS, USA). Joseph served as senior pastor of Nokaneng Unity Baptist Church for 7 years, as a Missionary in Mozambique with Samaria Mission (the ministry of Christ Baptist Church) for 4 years, and as a Lecturer at Christ Seminary (the ministry of Christ Baptist Church) for 10 years. He currently serves as the senior pastor of Christ Baptist Church. He and his wife, Welheminah, have a son and a daughter. Joseph loves serving God and His church.

March 2025 Update

Some highlights from the first quarter of 2025

Our monthly Prayer and Evangelism is a vital part of our church life! Thank you to those who are coming out to pray together as a church and to go out into the community with the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We encourage those whose haven’t joined us yet to come and share the Good News with our community!

The Women’s Conference in March was once again a wonderful success and we thank the Lord for the opportunity to serve our women at CBC and other churches. The conference was attended by 187 ladies and there were 9 churches represented. The ladies left the conference feeling blessed and refreshed in the Lord! Thank you to all who worked tirelessly to make this event a success!

CBC Missions

Southern Gateway Church Plant

We praise the Lord for sustaining us through this past year! We have been doing ministry in the Southern Gateway community for a year now and we are grateful to the Lord for the growth that we see in our small church group, both numerically and spiritually. We had a special 1 Anniversary celebration at the beginning of February and the day was enjoyed by everyone who attended.

The Chief Shepherd Baptist Church

Ministry in Zimbabwe continues under the faithful leadership of Pastor Simon Vuragu, assisted by Pastor Mazwi Mlambo. They were blessed by the visit from the team at the beginning of April. Comprising of Pastor Member Ngobeni, Pastor Joe Zbinden(USA) and Pastor Sonny Simak (UK).

During their visit we went on house-to-house visitation, did street evangelism and we held services every evening, had a special time of teaching for the men and also for the young adults. By the time the team left the church was energised and excited to “Worship God in Spirit and Truth!”

Soccer

This ministry continues to be a unique way of ministering to our local community. These boys, aged 7 - 17, meet every Saturday at 8:00am (unless we have a church event). Where we spend time not only playing soccer, but also in evangelism and discipleship. We are grateful to the Lord that we can impact the lives of these young men and their families.
